"This is as authentic as you can get for Puerto Rican Chinese food. I grew up in the island and every weekend I would eat this type of food. Here, everything tasted exactly as in my childhood. The rice was fantastic and a huge portion. The tostones con ajo were amazing, thin and crispy, as they should be. There was a bit of a line and the wait after ordering was about 15mins, but it was SO WORTH it. I will absolutely be returning. Fried cheesecake was amazing too."

"Why this place doesn’t have a 5-star rating is honestly a crime. I’m currently in a full-on food coma and felt compelled to post this immediately. We’re visiting from Oregon, where there is absolutely nothing in the way of Puerto Rican food, so this was a dream. I ordered the mofongo with shrimp, and the portion could easily feed two… but I regret nothing because I ate every last bite. The mofongo was unbelievably soft, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. My husband had the fried rice with ribs, and wow — the ribs were incredibly tender with zero dry pieces. Easily some of the best Asian-style ribs we’ve ever had. The rice was delicious too. We couldn’t leave without trying a coconut limbel (ice pop), and OMG — so refreshing, creamy and so good. Takes us back to summers in Puerto Rico. If we lived anywhere near this place, we’d absolutely be on a first-name basis. If you’re looking to try something new or craving amazing food, you must check this place out. Bonus points for the super helpful and friendly staff."

"Finally got to make the trek to Michys and it did not disappoint! We got the Mofongo Relleno de Churrasco and the Jalepeño Churrasco. The steak was cooked perfectly and the portion were huge! Their egg rolls are also fantastic as well. My fiancée said it was one of her favorite meals she’s ever had. We will definitely be back"

"A Taste of the Island in North Texas!! If you’re looking for a culinary bridge between two worlds, look no further than Michy’s Chino Boricua in Grand Prairie. This isn't just "fusion"; it is a faithful recreation of the unique Chinese-Puerto Rican cuisine found on the island, served with heart and immense flavor. The Carne Frita is a masterclass in texture, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and incredibly tender within. However, the true star might be the Signature Fried Chicken; it’s easy to see why it has earned accolades, as the house-blend spices and crunch are unmatched. Pair your main with their Arroz Chaufa (Pork Fried Rice) and a side of Mofongo or Tostones for the full experience. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making you feel less like a customer and more like a guest in a family kitchen. For those craving that "home-cooked" island taste or anyone looking for the best fried chicken in DFW, Michy’s is an absolute must-visit."

"Michy's is absolutely worth the wait! There's always a long line every day, and for good reason. Those people who left bad reviews because they couldn't wait in that long line and wanted to stop others to come. I guarantee they'll come again and hopeful to have a better access. Totally understood! However I have to say.... The food is incredible - a perfect blend of Chinese and Puerto Rican flavors that you won't find anywhere else. Every dish tastes freshly made, and packed with flavor. The staff are friendly and make sure you feel welcome even when the place is packed. You can tell they truly cate about their customers and take pride in what they do. I saw it on Instagram posts, and surprised how welcomed they are in person too! I came hungry and waited for their freshly made food - it's 100% worth it. Will come back again."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re in the DFW area and craving Puerto Rican-style Chinese food, Michy’s Chinos Boricua is an absolute must-try! The flavors are out of this world — the perfect mix of island comfort and Asian-inspired goodness. Every dish is seasoned to perfection, fresh, and made with love. The portions are generous, the service is warm and friendly, and you can truly taste the authenticity in every bite. From the fried rice to the tostones and perfectly cooked meats, everything hits just right. Whether you’re Puerto Rican missing the flavors of home or just someone who loves amazing food, Michy’s Chinos Boricua is hands down the best in DFW! You’ll definitely be coming back for more."

"We tried to visit many times, but the lines were long and winding outside. We finally stopped in about 3 months after it opened and the lines were more reasonable. There are still a lot of people seated and standing around waiting for their food. We ordered Carne Frita w/ Pork Fried Rice & Tostones and Pepper Steak w/ Pork Fried Rice & Tostones. We liked the meat and the tostones. The fried rice was much too salty for me and my wife; my kids liked the fried rice. We are not used to Puerto Rican style Chinese food. The plates are packed full of food, but half of the dish is fried rice. I considered trying some of the sushi, but the TV screen that I think had the sushi menu was not working. I was not pleased when, after ordering, the cashier handed me a drink cup with her finger inside the cup. Even if her hands were clean, it's not proper to have any part of your hand on the inside. That's the main reason for the 3 stars on service. I'm glad to have had tried this restaurant, but the food style just doesn't fit my preferred tastes."

"We ordered Carne Frita w/ Pork Fried Rice & Tostones and Pepper Steak w/ Pork Fried Rice & fries. We liked the carne frita it was juicy and tender also the tostones had a great flavor. Their egg rolls are also fantastic as well. We are glad that we arrived at the time we did because like 5 to 10 min later the place got packed. The lane was almost outside and people waiting to get a table. The place is not small but since they have a huge customer base they need bigger sitting area. Maybe some outside tables with shade will work. But outside that whether you’re Puerto Rican missing the flavors of home or just someone who loves amazing food, Michy’s Chinos Boricua is hands down. Oh and come hungry, or bring a friend . The portions here are massive. You get an incredible amount of food for the price, meaning you’ll likely have the best leftovers of your life!"
